Local History Project Wiki Instructions


You will need to create an individual wiki page that will serve as a workspace and presentation area for your final project and related activities. Learning Activities 3-D-2, 4-D-1, 5-D-1, 6-D-1, and 8-B-1 will be completed on your page.

To create your individual page:

  1. Click New Page at the top of the left hand navigation menu.
  2. In the Page Name field, enter your name follow by "Local History Project" (ex. Eve's Local History Project).
  3. In the Use a Template drop-down menu, select Participant Page Template.
  4. Click Create. You will now be on your individual page.
  5. In the page title at the top of the page, highlight the "Your Name" text.
  6. Type in your name.
  7. Click Save on the Editor bar.
  8. Return to the Local History Project page (this page).
  9. Click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner.
  10. Scroll down to the Participant Pages section.
  11. Place your cursor under any current content.
  12. Click the Link button on the Editor bar.
  13. In the Link Text field, enter your name follow by "Local History Project" (ex. Eve's Local History Project).
  14. In the Page Name drop-down menu, select the name of your page.
  15. Click Add Link.
  16. Click Save on the Editor bar.

To edit content of your individual page:

  1. Go to your page by clicking the link below.
  2. Click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll down to the section you would like to edit and add your content.
  4. Click Save on the Editor bar.

To provide feedback to a classmate:

  1. Go to their page by clicking the link below.
  2. Click on the Discussion tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click the New Post button.
  4. In the Subject field, enter a summary of your feedback.
  5. In the Message field, type in your feedback.
  6. Click Post.
